Robots Softball

The art department at Robots Headquarters have come up with a design for this year’s shirt. The shirt itself will be the same as the asphalt “away” shirts we printed in the middle of the summer (when we went on a five game “road” trip).

The lettering is intended to evoke the vibrant, lounge-era ethos of the Gibson cocktail. And we’re keeping the fighting robots since they have become a signature part of logo.

What do you think? Should I have gone with some art deco logo (with sharp lines and tons of zig-zags) to recall the actual era when the Gibson cocktail was popularized? I thought that would be unfaithful to the bar, since after all they do have darts, fooz ball, and a Wii. And we are a softball team not some yacht club.

Please join us for a practice at McCarren Park on Saturday at 2:30 pm. If we get enough players we will play against the team formerly known as “Pencil Factory.”
Also, chances are good that there will be margaritas at this weekend’s practice.
